Teriyaki Glazed Beef Skewers with Pineapple

I am the kind of person who loves pineapple on their pizza, and it’s totally fine if you don’t feel the same way. Many popular Asian-inspired dishes combine sweet and savory flavors, and I think they’re all delicious.
Pineapple is a fruit that tends to add a tropical touch, whether you add it to a drink, salad, or curry. It adds a freshness and natural sweetness that charms me every time.
Here’s a snack that I came up with after experimenting with several kinds of beef skewer recipes. I hope you like it as much as I do!

Ingredients
  

  • 500 grams of beef cubes (any tender cut)
  • 300 grams of pineapple chunks
  • ¼ cup soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • 2 tbsp white vinegar
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 1 tbsp ginger garlic paste
  • ½ tsp red chili flakes (optional)
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • Salt to taste
  • 6 wooden skewers (soaked in water)

Instructions
 

  • In a bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, honey, rice vinegar, sesame oil, ginger-garlic paste, red pepper flakes, salt, and black pepper to prepare the teriyaki marinade.
  • Place the beef cubes in a shallow dish and pour the teriyaki marinade over them.
  • Mix the beef cubes in the marinade with your hand or spoon, ensuring they are evenly coated.
  • Cover the dish and refrigerate for a few hours.
  • Preheat your oven grill or grill pan on a medium-high flame.
  • Prepare your skewers by alternating between marinated beef cubes and pineapple chunks.
  • Place the skewers on the preheated grill and cook for about 3-4 minutes on each side or until the beef is cooked to your desired level of doneness.
  • Baste the skewers with the remaining marinade as they cook and develop a glossy glaze.
  • Remove the skewers from the grill and let them rest for a few minutes before serving.
