angus beef recipes

When it comes to meat, beef is one of the most versatile options to work with, in the kitchen. It can be cooked with a wide variety of vegetables, and everyone loves it. You can further enhance the taste of your recipes by opting for high-quality beef, such as Angus beef.

Angus beef is best known for its conspicuous marble pattern of intramuscular fat. It is derived from a special cattle breed called ‘Angus that survives in low temperatures and develops high muscle content.

Angus beef is somewhat expensive compared to regular kinds of beef, but the taste and texture are worth the extra money. Home and restaurant chefs frequently choose Angus beef for its heightened juiciness and tenderness, which make it ideal for gourmet cooking.

The beef’s exceptional taste owes to the breed’s genetics, diet, and upbringing. The fat in the meat melts during cooking, giving it a well-rounded flavor and distinct succulence.

If you are now truly inspired to cook with Angus beef, here is a list of recipes to provide you with a legendary culinary experience:

1. Angus Beef Salpicao

Angus Beef Salpicao is an elite savory dish that comes from Filipino cuisine. Some say it is partially inspired by Portuguese and Spanish food as well.

I usually serve this dish with steamed rice and stir-fried vegetables, as they complement it nicely. The Filipinos generously add garlic to most of their savory dishes, and it is no different with this one.

Garlic adds a pleasant piquancy and aroma to this Angus Beef Recipe, as well as offers several health benefits, such as a reduction in cholesterol levels. The recipe does not list ‘salt’ as an ingredient because Oyster sauce and Worcestershire Sauce are already high in sodium.

2. Juicy Angus Beef Burger

Who needs McDonald’s when you can make an awesome Juicy Angus Beef Burger at home? All the over-hyped fast food burgers you’ve tried up till now have nothing on this one!

A homemade Angus Beef Burger takes first place because the juiciness of the patty and its robust flavor is unmatched. The meat’s higher fat content promotes the “Maillard reaction” that causes the surface of the burger patty to develop a delicious brown crust.

This Angus Beef recipe is super easy to follow, and the burger itself is irresistible. Don’t forget to make some French fries and coleslaw to go with it. Finally, yet importantly, fill up a tall glass with ice cubes and chilled Cola to complete your deluxe meal.

3. Panda Express Shanghai Angus Steak

The Panda Express’s Shanghai Angus Steak is an appetizing stir-fry dish, generally served as an entrée. It features thin slices of Angus meat in a sweet and savory sauce with vegetables.

The steak has a rich umami flavor, and the vegetables provide a nice crunch. This recipe is highly customizable, so you may swap, add, or subtract ingredients.

Panda Express’s Shanghai Angus Steak is typically served with a side of plain rice or noodles. This Angus Beef recipe incorporates rich sources of plant-based proteins.

4. Black Angus Steak Sandwich

Someone wise once said that if you can make a good sandwich, you don’t have to depend on anyone to feed you. Once you’ve made the Black Angus Steak Sandwich, you earn the right to call yourself ‘the sandwich MasterChef.’

This sandwich is unlike any you’ve had before because it’s thick and juicy beyond your imagination. The Angus steak is usually seasoned with salt and pepper and then grilled or pan-seared until the desired tenderness is achieved.

I advise you to use dense or tough bread for this sandwich because light and thin varieties won’t be able to hold up the sizeable filling. I typically use a ciabatta for this Angus Beef recipe.

5. Black Angus Beef with Lucky Sauce

The Black Angus Beef with Lucky Sauce is a refreshing entrée from Vietnam. It mainly consists of marinated Angus beef cooked on high flame in a wok to char it; this adds a delicious smoky flavor.

This dish is seasoned with a handful of herbs, which makes it all the more nutritious and appealing. Traditionally, it is served with Jasmine rice, but I prefer Basmati.

Now you’re probably curious about the ‘lucky’ sauce, so I’ll tell you that it is believed to attract good fortune. The primary ingredients of the Lucky Sauce are sesame oil, caster sugar, and oyster sauce.

6. Angus Beef Ribeye Steak with Air-Fried Brussel Sprouts

Do not be overwhelmed by the name of this Angus Beef recipe because the prep time isn’t as long as the name. The Angus Beef Ribeye Steak with Air-Fried Brussels Sprouts is a balanced and satisfying meal.

This unpretentious savory dish features a juicy ribeye steak and crispy air-fried Brussels sprouts. At times, less is more, but you are free to add more condiments and seasonings to add depth to the taste profile.

Did you know that ribeye steak is one of the most sought-after cuts of beef due to its tenderness and rich flavor?

7. Air Fryer Angus Beef Fajitas

This recipe is for all the Air Fryer converts out there! Angus Beef Fajitas is a classic Tex-Mex dish that you can prepare with your favorite kitchen gadget.

The Angus beef will need to be thinly sliced to ensure it is fully and evenly cooked in the air fryer. The beef fajitas are supposed to be spicy. Thus, this recipe contains several fiery ingredients like paprika and red chili.

Air Fryer Angus Beef Fajitas are traditionally paired with tortillas, but you can enjoy them with regular flatbread. I like them between two slices of bread with cheddar cheese and salad as well.

8. Black Pepper Angus Steak

Don’t you love the bold flavor of black pepper on meat? I sure do. It is not too spicy or overpowering; hence, it sort of enhances the steak’s natural flavor.

Black Pepper Angus Steak is a simple savory dish that serves beautifully as the centerpiece of the main course. Dish it out with a side of rice, potato salad, and roasted greens.

Garnishing the dish with sesame seeds and fresh green herbs can make it more appetizing and visually appealing. Red wine and chocolate desserts pair well with this Agnus Beef Recipe.

9. Red Wine Braised Short Ribs in Dutch Oven

Red Wine Braised Short Ribs in Dutch Oven is yet another scrumptious savory meal that flaunts the superior flavor of Angus beef.

The meat used in this fancy meal comes from the rib area of the cattle. The meat undergoes a technique called Red Wine Braising, which involves searing the meat and then slow-cooking the wine.

This Angus Beef recipe utilizes a Dutch oven, a heavy-lidded pot ideal for slow cooking. The pot’s thick walls and sealed lid help retain heat and moisture, so the beef melts in your mouth.

10. Grilled Australian Black Angus Steak

This Angus Beef Recipe is a special Australian delicacy that is largely served on Christmas. Grilled Australian Black Angus Steak is prepared on a grill and traditionally served with a creamy Potato gratin.

The blazing heat from the grill smolders the steak, which creates a flavorsome crust and locks in the meat’s natural juices. You may showcase your creativity in seasoning, though salt and pepper do a pretty good job too.

I frequently make this dish upon request during the winter season. It is perfect when done medium-rare, but you can grill it a bit longer if you prefer medium to well-done steak.

11. Slow Cooker Steak Chili

If you like your steak spicy and tender, the Slow Cooker Steak Chili will prove to be a delightful treat for your taste buds. This savory dish generally consists of cubed Angus Beef served in piquant gravy containing an array of vegetables, beans, and spices.

The slow cooker method allows the flavors of all the ingredients to develop and fuse seamlessly. Vegetables add depth and texture, whereas the assortment of beans enhances creaminess and nutritional value.

This Angus Beef Recipe derives its warm and robust taste from a unique blend of spices and seasonings. Topping the dish with shredded cheese and sour cream makes it even more luxurious.

12. Top Round Roast Beef Recipe

The Top round roast is usually made from a lean cut of beef that comes from the top section of a round primal. Despite being lean, it can still be tender and juicy when cooked in the correct manner.

This Angus Beef recipe requires minimal ingredients and can be prepared in under ten minutes. The meat is typically roasted in a preheated oven in a baking dish.

To keep it simple, the meat is rubbed with salt, pepper, olive oil, and garlic before baking. However, you may add other spices and herbs to your liking. I usually cut the roast into thin slices and serve it with a fresh green salad and Greek yogurt.

13. Pan Seared Oven Finished Filet Mignon

The Filet mignon is a premium beef cut from the tenderloin. It is highly sought after for its buttery texture and exceptional tenderness.

The cooking process of this Angus beef recipe involves pan-searing of the filet mignon. Add a small amount of butter or cooking oil to sear until a light to medium-brown crust develops on all sides.

After that, the filet mignon is transferred to a preheated oven to finish cooking. Pan Seared Oven Finished Filet Mignon is a luxurious main course I enjoy with sautéed mushrooms and green beans.

14. Skillet Bourbon Steak

You can use any meat cut to make the Skillet Bourbon Steak. The ribeye works fine, but you may opt for filet mignon if you like it fancy.

This Angus Beef Recipe infuses the steak with the complex flavors of Bourbon, a popular American whiskey often used in cooking. It usually has hints of vanilla, caramel, and oak that offer a distinct flavor profile.

As the name suggests, this recipe applies the Skillet cooking approach that gives the meat a lovely charred appearance.  Garnishing the steak with freshly chopped parsley adds a desirable freshness to the dish.

15. Crock Pot Roast

Do you want to make a scrumptious beef roast with minimum effort? If yes, try the Crock Pot Roast, as it is one of the quickest and increasingly convenient recipes out there.

For this Angus Beef recipe, you will need a tougher cut of beef, such as the bottom round section. This is because the tough piece of meat has more connective tissue, which breaks down and tenderizes the beef during the slow cooking process.

The cooking time depends on the size and cut of the meat, as well as the desired level of tenderness. Cooking on low heat for 6 to 8 hours usually gives the best results.

16. Classic Beef Brisket in Slow Cooker

The Beef brisket is a cut of meat from the breast or lower chest of the Angus cattle. It is a relatively tough meat section but turns out to be extremely flavorful when cooked correctly.

The slow cooker process is ideal for preparing this Angus Beef recipe, as the brisket requires a long time to reach a desired level of tenderness.  The beef brisket also needs a liquid to braise in the cooker, for which you may use broth or wine.

I like to add ingredients like salt, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, and brown sugar to turn the surrounding liquid into a flavorful gravy that complements the brisket.

17. Black Angus Beef with Polenta and Sweet Sour Oyster Mushrooms

Black Angus Beef with Polenta and Sweet Sour Oyster Mushrooms has a lot going on regarding flavor and texture. The creaminess of polenta and the tangy sweetness of oyster mushrooms perfectly balance the rich flavor of the meat.

This traditional Italian dish is dished out and served in a particular way. The polenta is spread over a plate, the Black Angus beef is sliced and placed on top, and the oyster mushrooms are dolloped over the beef.

If you like pairing your steak with vegetables, I’d suggest grilled asparagus and balsamic glazed Brussels sprouts with this Angus Beef recipe.

18. Best Chuck Roast

The Angus Beef Chuck Roast is prepared from meat derived from the animal’s shoulder. This primal beef cut is called ‘chuck’; it is a tough and extensively marbled cut of meat rich in collagen.

This Angus Beef Recipe is one of the simplest yet best pot beef recipes you will find. Slow cooking with earthy vegetables, such as carrots and potatoes, gives it a delicious rustic feel.

The marbling in the meat slowly dissolves during the cooking process, resulting in a melt-in-your-mouth experience.

19. Texas Style Angus Brisket

The Angus beef is a fantastic choice for outdoor grilling or backyard barbeque get-togethers. The Texas-style Angus brisket will surely lift your mood with its smoky beefy flavor.

The Texas-style brisket is seasoned with a dry rub, primarily a mix of salt and black pepper. You can add other herbs and spices of your choice to add depth and expand the flavor profile.

This Angus Beef recipe keeps it simple because it intends to let the meat shine. My family members usually dig in with a fork and use tomato ketchup as a dip.

In today’s fast-paced world, we demand instant results and convenience. Understandably, you rarely get time to cook something extravagant.

The Instant Pot Easy Beef Stew is the meal you can easily afford when you’re short on time. This filling and nutritious Angus Beef recipe will remind you of home while keeping you warm and energized at work all day.

This dish is prepared in an Instant Pot Pressure Cooker that allows for faster cooking, making it ideal for busy bees. The dish is highly customizable, so you can swap listed vegetables with seasonal ones or those you prefer.

21. Steak Salad

Most Angus Beef recipes mentioned above feature beefsteak cooked in gravy or stew. There are days when you crave something relatively fresh, crisp, and light, so this recipe is for those days.

The Angus Beef Steak Salad is a charming entrée with lots of color, crunch, and nutritional value. It is best to grill the meat for this recipe, though you can also go with broiling or pan-searing.

The beefsteak squares go great with cherry tomatoes and a mix of fresh greens. Aside from the olive oil vinaigrette, I also like to drizzle some thousand islands dressing over this meaty salad.
